About us

In 2010 a vision and dream was manifested as we purchased Sunny Brow Farm. We, Philip and Suzy-Anne, moved into what was then a derelict farm, and undertook the mission to lovingly renovate it into a beautiful family home, self-catered barn accommodation and holistic retreat centre. Here we have raised our 3 amazing children and nurtured many animals along the way, including cats, dogs, sheep, pigs, chickens and ducks.

Our passion is for living naturally and in union with nature. Suzy-Anne is a passionate about nature and spirituality, running many yoga and healing retreats. Philip is an amazing craftsman, having renovated and self built all the fabulous barns and studio spaces. Together we feel that we make a great and unique team which has birthed this beautiful space that allows for people to come, enjoy, relax, refresh, and unfold in to all that they are.

Our surrounding area is great woodlands, forests, lakes, tarns, fells, dales, and rivers. There is something for everyone. The beauty and excitement of the Lake District National Park is quite literally on your doorstep. With Windermere, Coniston, Ambleside and Hawkshead all a short car journey from here; and Tarn Hows and the infamous Drunken Duck Inn a short hike away, this is a great location for any holiday stay.

You are welcome to explore and relax into our 33 acres of woodland with many varieties of native trees, including oak, hazel, hawthorn, silver birch. Walk up Limestone beck, enjoy views of Esthwaite Water, spot birds, badgers and deer, build a den or explore edible plants.

We feel blessed to live here and blessed to share with guests coming to stay here in this lovely part of the world.
